Wow! It is the final week of my freshman year in college. Many of you know that this means one thing, finals! My time is mostly spent in classes, studying in the library, or my dorm room. I stare longingly outside wishing to be enjoying the beautiful spring weather. So, today I decided I needed to take a break and go on an adventure. This morning started off with a test, but as soon as it was over my best friend, Katelyn, and I went to the park for a run. Running is something I am very passionate about. My half sister encouraged me to do half marathons, and ever since my first one, I have been hooked. It never fails to make me feel great, and clear my mind. There is not a better way to start my day. It felt so amazing outside and spending it with your best friend makes it even better!
Unfortunately, I had to return back to one last class but thankfully we got out early! My suitemate, Kate, and I decided to go back to the park to Eno. Of course, we had to stop for a sno-cone on the way! We decided to hang our hammocks up by the water, which was such a beautiful, relaxing view. As we were chilling in our hammocks, we were talking about how people we know can flip into their hammocks and out of their hammocks. We decided to look up videos on YouTube and try it ourselves. Hoping that this wouldn’t end badly, we decided to give it a shot! I made Kate go first and try to do a back flip out of her Eno. I stood close behind her to try to spot her incase she fell. We were both so nervous and scared to do it. She made it over successfully and once we both got the hang of it we thought it was so fun. We had the best time talking, listening to music, relaxing, taking pictures, and goofing off.
After a stressful week of school it is so nice to relax, laugh with friends, enjoy nature, and enjoy the things you love. I think sometimes we get so caught up in work and school that we forget to really enjoy nature and what God has created. Today was perfect. Today was just what I needed.
