10. The Accessibility.
We are only 45 minutes to an hour away from some major towns. This is great if you need to get to the big “city” for something or if you live in the “city” and want to get here for all of the other great things I will mention.
9. The Trails.
We experienced one of the trails this weekend in fact. Our 2-year-old loved it! He pointed at all the big trees and took pictures by the river. We have several of these around the village that you can enjoy! It is nice to get off the beaten path and enjoy the beautiful spring weather.
8. The Restaurants.
Maybe you enjoy the massive pancake from Carol’s Lake View on Saturday mornings or you’re counting down the days until Thursday when Bob & Sandy’s BBQ opens for lunch. Our good friends at Patio Lino never let us down and we love cheering on our favorite teams at Artisan Sports Bar and Grill. Rebel Time Out delivers! We’ve called from our boat, ordered a pizza, and they were at our house when we got to our dock!
7. The 4th of July.
They’ve upped their game in the last few years by adding the helicopter flybys and the other weekend events! Don’t miss out on this massive 4th of July fireworks display and other events that won’t disappoint!
6. The Hunting.
Did you know Cherokee Village offers an urban bow hunt? Or you can be in a tree stand within minutes from Cherokee Village?
5. The Rivers.
Fish, canoe, swim, whatever your hearts desire! The rivers are an awesome feature to our area that attracts visitors from all over as well as being local favorites!
4. The Lakes.
Oh the lakes. They might be my personal number one. We wake up every morning with a great view of water. This winter we drank coffee and watched swans swimming in our back yard! Rent a paddle board or kayak and have it in a lake in 30 minutes or less!
3. The Healthcare.
We have a really great group of doctors and healthcare providers in our area. We also have an emergency room centrally located on the 4-lane. The dentists, doctors, and pharmacists (myself included), are small town providers that know our patients and are here to provide optimal healthcare to our area. We are also a short drive to major hospitals in 4 directions.
2. The Schools.
Highland School District is a really great district for your kids to go to school. There are some great opportunities for our students for academics, sports, and the arts.
1. The People.
Cherokee Village was founded as a retirement community by Mr. Cooper many years ago, bringing people from all over the world. While “retirement community,” is no longer such an accurate term to describe us, it is a great place to retire. It is also a great place to raise kids, visit on the weekends, and run businesses. I grew up here and I can attest to that part as a kid and as a parent. I also came back home every chance I got while in college and pharmacy school. As far as running businesses, we are doing this too! This community gets so excited when something new comes to town and really turns out to support! There is truly something special about being apart of this community.
Come visit us and see all of the great things we have to offer!
Our company has been created out of a love for Cherokee Village and the surrounding area. This blog is written by us and others that share that love. Each post will share something unique about what this area has to offer. Thanks for stopping by, hope we see you soon!
